Improving your Balance 1

Lets make a start

·        Falls are the most frequent cause of injury in the over 65s and can have serious consequences. However, much research shows that the risk of a fall can be considerably reduced if you take part in targeted exercise classes and practice what you have learnt. 

To help with this, we’re offering a series of 4 short workshops aimed at improving your balance.  You can either do this one-to-one, with times and dates to suit you, or in larger classes (up to 6 people) at the Village Hall.  The classes are very gentle and we'll go at a pace to suit you / the group.  

·        Why wait?  Take action and start now.  The course is for people of any age or level of fitness. Please contact Janis below to chat through any questions and concerns.  Before the course starts, Janis also speaks to everyone individually to understand any particular challenges you might have.

Improving your Balance 2

Keep Up the Good Work

·        This course is for those who have already taken part in these classes or have taken part in classes elsewhere. 

We will continue with the same exercises you learnt during the course and keep them up every week.  Of course, practice in between the weekly classes will be the key to success!  You can share your experiences and learn from each other.  You could also walk over to the Fernhurst Hub afterwards and enjoy a drink and a chat with your fellow balancers!  

The intention is to still keep the class small, with a maximum of 10, so please book early to secure your place.
