One-off Events

  • Sussex Police at Cowdray

    Sussex Police Drop-in

    Thursday, September 25th - 10am - 11:30am

    We’re pleased to be hosting our local Neighbourhood Policing Team here at the Hub for an open door meet and greet.

    This is a great opportunity to come along, have a chat, and raise any concerns you may have about our community. You can also hear more about how the team are tackling local issues.

    PCSO Ford, who has covered Fernhurst and the surrounding area for the past five years, will be in attendance and is looking forward to meeting and speaking with local residents.

  • Artist Open Call

    The Hub is proud to be holding it’s third Open Call art exhibition. Works in all mediums and styles will be exhibited, showcasing the huge artist talent in the area. Do come and take a look, all paintings are for sale.

    The exhibition will run from 15th October until 17th December.

  • Legacies of the British Empire

    Thursday 9 October 7.30pm - 9pm

    We are thrilled that Iain Kennedy, who is a local Fernhurst resident, has agreed to come and talk to us about the story of the British Empire.  Iain has extensive knowledge on this topic and spends much of his time on the high seas on the cruise ship enrichment network.   His talk will cover such areas as the accumulation and then the dissipation of the Empire and how it still raises sharp debate, asking such questions as "do we owe the world an apology or can we celebrate a genuine and worthy contribution to civilisation?".

    Whatever your opinion, do come along for what should be a very lively and interesting debate.  There will be an opportunity for a Q&A session after the talk.

  • Embroidery Workshop

    Saturday 18 October 10am - 3.30pm

    Learn how to hand-embroider a beautiful Christmas Wreath. You will be shown seven different stitches enabling you to complete the wreath in the comfort of your own home.

    All equipment will be provided for use on the day including a seat frame, daylight lamp and scissors.

    You will take home an embroidery kit which will include pre-printed fabric, needle, instructions, a thread card loaded with stranded cotton and tissue paper all wrapped up in a box.

  • Learn to sell on Vinted at the Fernhurst Hub

    Learn to sell on Vinted

    Thursday 23 October 7.00pm - 9.00pm

    Keen to de-clutter your wardrobe and make some money at the same time? Our workshop will show you how! Vinted is an online marketplace whereby users can sell and purchase pre-owned clothes and accessories. Unlike other platforms, there are no fees to the seller!

    During this workshop you will learn everything you need to know, so why not come along and give it a go.

  • Repair cafe  at Fernhurst Hub

    Repair Cafe

    Saturday 25th October - 10am - 1pm

    Don't throw away your broken toasters, toys or trousers, book them in by clicking the link below and bring them to the Hub to see if our wonderful repairers can restore them to working order with their skill and expertise.

    We’re charging a £2 registration fee to cover costs and hope you will donate to the Hub, if you can, when the item is repaired.

  • Christmas Biscuit Decorating Workshop

    Saturday, 8th November - 2pm - 4:30pm

    Bring a little festive sparkle to your baking! Join us for a hands-on workshop decorating Christmas bauble biscuits with royal icing under the expert guidance of Tessa Whitehouse.

    You’ll take home six beautifully decorated biscuits, Tessa’s own biscuit recipe . All equipment, icing and freshly baked biscuits will be provided.

    Cost: £25.00

  • Wine & Cheese Tasting

    Thursday 20th November 7.30 - 9.30 pm

    Come and join us for a wine and cheese tasting evening with Richard Royds of the Haslemere Cellar and The General Wine Company.  Sample both red and white wines from Europe and the New World plus some sweet and fortified wines.  A wide selection of mostly British cheeses will be available to taste ranging from hard to soft and including some sheep or goats cheeses.

  • Christmas Fayre

    Saturday 29 November 9am - 1pm

    Handmade Silver  Jewellery, Wooden artisan trays and cheese boards, Christmas Decorations,  Scarves Locally made Pottery,  Christmas Honey and much more.

    Not forgetting Christmas cards unique designs all from watercolours by local artists and the Fernhurst Calendar 2026

What’s on for children

  • Music Makers at the Hub

    Tuesdays - 09:30 - 10:00hrs (term time)

    We are delighted to host Naomi Brimacombe, a member of staff at Fernhurst Pre-School and talented musician. She will be running 'Music Makers at the Hub' - fun with music, playing instruments, singing and dancing for children aged between 18 -36 months.

    There is a charge of £2 per child but there is no need to book. And you can stay for coffee and cake after too!

  • Fernhurst Hub Reading Circle

    Reading Circle

    Daytime - 1st Tuesday of the month at 14:30hrs

    Evenings - 2nd Wednesday of the month at 19:30hrs

    Have you always meant to read that book? Then why not join one of our friendly, informal Reading Groups.

    In each group, members take it in turns to choose a book for the next meeting.

    Haslemere Book Shop offers a 10% discount on books purchased by members of the Reading Circle.

  • Walk & Talk

    Have you been meaning to join a walking group lately? We run a ‘Walk & Talk’ group on the second Thursday of the month, meeting at 09:30 at the Hub.

    It’s free to all and everyone is welcome including dogs!

  • Games afternoon at the Fernhurst Hub

    Games Afternoon

    Thursdays, 14:00 - 16:00hrs

    Come along and join us for a fun and sociable afternoon playing board games and cards. Backgammon. Scrabble, Chess, Bananagrams or enjoy a game of Racing Demons. New ideas welcome. Please bring your favourites too.

    All welcome, no need to book and its free!

    Carers and Friends Monthly Meet-Up

    Friday, 3rd October 14:30 - 16:00hrs

    This monthly meet-up is for unpaid carers and anyone else who would like to benefit from chat and local information. These informal, sociable gatherings take place in a relaxed environment.

    This month we are delighted to be joined by Aimee Webb from Carers Support West Sussex.

  • Parent Pod

    New Date Coming Soon

    This is a place for parents/carers of pre-teens to share their journey: the highs and lows and their experiences and challenges of raising their teenagers.
